This trek of Phobjikha valley, at 3000 meters is one of the few glacial valley in Bhutan and is the chosen home of the rare black-necked crane. The valley of Gangtey is one of the most beautiful places in Bhutan. The trek passes through meadows and fields and into the forests of Juniper, Magnolia and Rhododendrons.One of the finest low level treks in Bhutan. The best time to trek is from Jan-May & Sept-December.
Day 1:Arrive Kathmandu
Day 2:Half Day Sightseeing Tour
Day 3:A sweeping flight over the Himalayas, as you enter the Paro valley with a 1 1/2 hr drive to Thimpu at Hotel Druk or similar.
Day 4:Thimpu the Capital of Bhutan and it is the only Capital in the world without traffic lights. A morning tour after lunch 5 hours drive to Gangtey, overnight at farm house.
Day 5:Gangtey Gompa to Gogona village, distance 15 km. about 6-7 hours trek.
Day 6:Gogona to Khoatokha.A wide alpine valley distance 15/16km about 6/7 hours trek.
Day 7:Khotokha to Chazam / Wangdi. The trek ends here over the Mulaila pass (9200ft) the way down in Wangdi Phodrang, overnight at Wangdi guest house.
Day 8:Chazam to Thimphu, 4-5 hours drive.
Day 9:From Thimphu drive early to Paro to visit the cultural sites.
Day 10:Farewell to Bhutan as you board in the Druk Air, the National Carrier.
